My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Piper, an approximately 1 year old girl weighing 41 pounds, boasts adorable ears and a sweet, snuggly, and submissive demeanor. Despite some nervousness around vehicles and other animals during walks, she loves people, often crawling over to you and rolling over to reveal her belly. Piper is in the process of learning fetch, enjoys playing with other dogs, and doesn’t pay any mind to cats. We require Piper’s future home to have another dog as she learns from them and they help boost her confidence since she is shy at first. Adopter must have a fenced yard as well. She’s a bit more cautious around the cows at her foster home, lol!

She’s a bundle of fun energy, yet she equally enjoys climbing onto the couch to snuggle and watch TV with the family in the evenings. Piper is both kennel and potty trained and very smart with a desire to please! Her positive interactions with seven kids in her foster home ranging from ages 6 to 17 along with all of their friends without problems further highlight her suitability for family life. She’s an amazing addition to any home!!

Piper was rescued from a high kill shelter in rural north Texas along with her 2 sisters after their other 3 littermates were tragically euthanized for space the week before. She is so deserving of her forever home and we know her siblings that have passed will be so happy for her once she finds it!

DISCLAIMER- Breed type is determined based on general appearance and behavioral characteristics and cannot be guaranteed unless DNA test results or AKC registration were provided at intake.

***MOST OF OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN TEXAS, BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE. Read below for more information.

Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Pep's Pals Rescue direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc).

Our adoption fee is $400 plus health certificate and transport (varies by location). This fee includes all current vaccinations, deworming, microchip (additional $12.99 registration fee required at time of adoption), fecal analysis, spay/neuter for dogs 6 months & older, and a heartworm test if over 6 months old. All dogs are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed and a health certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days of transport.

More about this rescue

Pep's Pals Rescue is committed to rescuing shelter dogs and street dogs and finding them forever homes. All dogs deserve to live their lives showered with the love they deserve.
Pep's Pals is named after Pepper, a lab who gave so much love to the founder of Pep's Pals and her family. We carry on his legacy by loving and caring for the dogs who need to know what it is like to be a part of a family. Pepper was kind to every human and fur friend he met. We believe that's how Pepper would want us to carry out our mission.
