My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Dove - The Playful and Curious Torti Beauty!

Dove is a young adult torti female cat whose beauty is matched only by her playful and curious nature. With boundless energy and a love for feline companionship, Dove is ready to bring joy and fun to your home.

Dove is always playful and energetic, showcasing her lively spirit and love for interactive play. While she can sometimes be calm and laid back, her playful side often takes center stage. Although she is often shy, she rarely feels fearful, showing a gentle curiosity about her surroundings.

As a social butterfly, Dove gets along well with other cats but prefers to avoid or ignore dogs. She enjoys chasing toys along the ground and pouncing on them, engaging in energetic play sessions that keep her entertained. Her love for watching the world from the window reflects her curious nature and desire to explore.

While she hasn't been exposed to children in her foster home, Dove is reserved but approachable by adults and strangers. She is still working on socialization and cannot yet be comfortably picked up for handling. However, she enjoys scratches and pets, showing her affectionate side with gentle nose boops to her fosters.

Dove is a playful girl who thrives in the company of other cats. Although she's not a fan of being picked up currently, she adores attention and will greet her fosters with enthusiasm, especially if treats are involved. Her love for food makes her a social butterfly during treat time, adding to her charm and playful nature.

If you're looking for a lively and curious companion who adores feline friends and enjoys interactive play, Dove is the perfect match. Don't miss the chance to welcome this playful beauty into your home and experience the love and fun she has to offer!

Go meet their pets

We are a foster based rescue. Adoption events are held regularly in the community at Petco Winchester and some kittens are housed at the Petco in Warrenton. Additional events are held at area festivals, wineries, breweries, and parks. Approved adopters can schedule a private meet and greet with their chosen pet.

More about this rescue

Shady’s Paw Animal Rescue works to improve the lives of cats and the people who care for them in Lake Holiday and the surrounding areas through 1) TNR and colony management, 2) fostering and adoptions, 3) educating the public on best practices for feline care in the home or colony setting, and 4) supporting the needs of cats in the communities we serve.
