My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

My name is Sage and I am a 9 month old Golden Retriever mix.

I am a resilient spirit despite a challenging start in life, having experienced a broken spine after being hit by a car. However, this hasn't deterred my enthusiasm for life, as I now happily navigate the world with the help of a wheelchair. I do have to wear a diaper or a drag bag because I'm not always sure when I have to go to the bathroom.

Personality: Sage is a beacon of positivity and resilience. Despite his physical limitations, he radiates joy and exuberance, demonstrating a remarkable ability to adapt and thrive. His playful nature knows no bounds, and he's always eager to explore new adventures and make new friends.

Socialization: Sage is incredibly sociable and gets along famously with both dogs and humans alike. His gentle and friendly demeanor makes him a beloved companion to everyone he meets. Whether he's engaging in a game of fetch with other dogs or cuddling up for a cozy nap with his human friends, Sage's affable nature shines through.

Health: Sage has been neutered and is up-to-date on all of his vaccinations, ensuring he stays healthy and happy. Despite his spinal injury, he receives the best care possible to manage his condition and maintain his quality of life.

Overall, Sage is an inspiration to all who encounter him, demonstrating the power of resilience, love, and determination in overcoming life's challenges. He serves as a reminder that no obstacle is insurmountable with the right support and a positive attitude. Sage's journey is a testament to the boundless capacity for joy and companionship that dogs bring into our lives, regardless of any physical limitations they may face.

Because all our animals are kept in foster homes an appointment is necessary to visit with one of them. You can give us a call or send us an email and we will be happy to have you come and meet your chosen animal.

More about this rescue

We are an all volunteer organization working with the rescue, adoption, and sanctuary of companion animals as well as and farm animals. The dogs and cats we have come from either other rescue groups which have run out of room, high kill shelters on their "death day", or from private owners.

We are a 501(c)(3) organization and all contributions are tax deductible and all monies raised go directly to the care of the animals in rescue.

We are a no kill facility but because we are a small group all our animals are held in foster homes until their forever family comes for them and appointments are necessary to visit with the animals in our care.
