Amy is such an incredibly brave and friendly cat. She is curious and will go right up to new people and things, and typically wants to be included in, or aware of whatever’s happening. She loves her cheek scratches and butt scritches, and purrs up a storm when being brushed. She does have her boundaries (she does not enjoy being picked up), and will make it clear when you have crossed them.
This girl LOVES to burrow into a cozy place, and will find her way under your blanket or a sheet, and happily sit there for hours. She also has the cutest scraggly little meow, and she will "hunt" her toys and bring them to you while showing off her vocal pipes. She's pretty independent and will do her own thing, so she is pretty low-maintenance. That being said, she will follow you around to see what you're up to, like a little shadow, and sit nearby to hang out. She also likes to jump up onto your bed and get lots of attention in the morning
Amy’s pretty playful, and loves to bat around little toys (especially mice) and scratch her cat tree. It is preferable that you have a vertical scratching surface for her. She is good to play independently, but is thrilled when she has a human around to wave a wand toy for her. For some reason, she likes to nibble on thin plastic, so make sure your plastic bags are secured.
Amy is hyperthyroid, so needs a little gel on her inner ear twice a day. She's very cooperative about it, so it's not an issue.
Note from foster: Amy is a wonderful cat, and we love her. She is a strong independent woman, who is also a great companion. She will be best as the only cat in the home so that she can be queen of the castle. Her eating, drinking, and litter box habits are all great, and she adapted to foster life very well. She's been delightful for us, and cracks us up with all the cozy places she finds to hide. She’s so easy to love and we’re confident that you will adore her as much as we do.
Thank you for welcoming a senior cat into your family - an adoption fee of your choice is appreciated, vs. our standard adult cat adoption fee of $200.
