***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation***
Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues.

WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS.
Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog.

We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes in WA state, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA.

Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We no longer accept PayPal because of the percentage they take & their fees but if the potential adopter wants to pay the fees we will accept PayPal.

The call was put out for the need from several commercial breeders who needed some of their dogs gone, at a cost of course in the middle of the midwest. Of course once we know about them we are not leaving them & do what we have to do to help them. If we don’t help we know they will end up getting euthanized because the breeders are done with them. These innocent souls lives was instantly changing in that moment & only for the better. They were one of the very lucky ones. On this day we rescued a total 6 lives including Marigold. All Marigold had known was being a breeding machine & making money for this breeder until he was done with her.
Now the real healing, love & devotion could begin & show Marigold how she is supposed to be loved & adored in a loving forever home just as they are in their foster home.

Marigold & her friends were bought back to the WA state where she is now is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever home.

This sweet girl has seen a lot of things, it’s very clear of that. We could tell originally she was just grabbed to breed but now she has gotten used to her foster home picking her up & not worrying about what they are going to do to her. She is a very sweet girl her foster dad & mum said & she is good with both of them. She quite an aloof little lady too they said. Not a care in the world or a mean bone in her little body. They said she is the type of dog you don’t know she is even there. They did say she likes to rest her head on her dog siblings.
The reality is, the foster homes are her real first experience at being in a home, with a tv, bedding she can snuggle up in, a roof over her head that’s not outside.

Marigold is now a wonderful eater & was uncertain at first as the food she was fed was of the poorest quality & they get used to eating it. In her foster home she now eats clean meaning, raw fruits, vegetables, proteins, grains & supplements. Now she is not shy about eating & a great eater. She will ever share out of her bowl.
She adores comfy beds & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, this is something she did not get to experience ever until she was rescued. She currently sleeps with her foster siblings & may want to sleep in bed with you.
She is such a sweet girl who just wants to be loved & to make up for her past. She is wonderful with being bathed & groomed & good with the hairdryer. When she arrived she had staining around her feet from urine & it appeared around her mouth. We have been trying to remove it but it takes time. We have also discovered she loves a good outfit.
She would still need to be taught to walk on a harness & leash but is learning but has slowly learned to walk on a slip lead.

Marigold rides in the car well & considering the only times we know of was when she went to be released & when we got her & going home & to & from the vets with us. But she does absolutely amazing in the car. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lady only. Marigold as you can imagine spent the first part of his life in a caged environment. Please do not apply saying you won’t crate her then go ahead & crate her. We are also looking for a forever home for Marigold where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them. When they find someone who treats them as they should be treated & loves them they get so attached to them.
Marigold is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be patient with her & never give up on her.

Marigold has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes in the rescue & she is currently with other dogs & does well with them in her loving foster home. She could be the only dog in the home & get all the attention but she will go & lay with her foster siblings. If you have a house a fully fenced backyard is mandatory & we do not accept electric fences.

Marigold is roughly 11.4 lbs & she is rough‭ly 3 years old & a female shi tzu‬. She has put on weight since being in the rescue. What she is mixed with we are not sure, she is spayed by laser by our wonderful vets, she had a major dental with a scale & polish & dental x-rays. She had 1 minor molar & 8 incisors removed. She is microchipped, up to date on her shots, including DHPP, leptospirosis, bordatella & dewormed.

We have spent far more on Marigold with her flight to WA with her travel costs in Omaha. All of her medical care in WA & Omaha etc & bringing her to WA then her adoption fee comes close to covering.

Marigold has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had her around small children but we do do not recommend small children nor cats though & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats.

We were not there when Marigold was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is.

As with all of our rescues & Marigold’s friends & she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Marigold potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond.

We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying.

Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Marigold & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on. Or you waste this rescues time, will remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit via WebEx or Zoom due to covid & followed by a meet & greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Marigold who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for the special sweet little Marigold.
Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately.

Marigold has an adoption fee of $1250 & is ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.
