My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jedi is a two-year-old, 60-pound lab/shepherd mix picked up by a shelter. This dog has one of the most outgoing personalities we've seen, and it's hard to imagine he ended up as a stray. He's in boarding now and doing great with all of the dogs. At a recent adoption event, he worked the crowd like a champ and was a favorite of one of the kids there. He was in very good shape when we got him and is clean in his kennel, so we think he's been raised in a home. If you want to adopt or foster to adopt Jedi, please click the “Adopt” button and submit an Adoption application.

FROM THE FOSTER:  Jedi is a love bug for life! This happy-go-lucky guy will steal your heart with his soulful eyes, winning smile, and loyalty forever! This pup is  young and puppyish, but aims to please and follow you and your directions - wherever you go. He understands no, off and all of the corrections. He settles after play or walk, knows sit and after a short time is learning to be good on a leash and stay. He loves a car ride, treats, and to look out the window.

This guy would be perfect for an active person or family. He is smart, with energy but is trainable. He especially loves other dogs, to play, and socialize. He is currently being crate trained, only after a few days with a good schedule, he knows to potty outside. He loves just about everything and everyone he meets and could learn anything!

More about this rescue

Atlanta Lab Rescue is an all volunteer, non-profit (501-c3) organization, whose volunteers have years of rescue experience. Our mission is to identify and rescue Labrador Retrievers and large breed mixes from overwhelmed shelters and abusive situations and place them in secure, loving homes. We average 30-40 dogs in the program at any given time and in our first 10 years, we have rescued over 3500 dogs.

Prior to an Atlanta Lab Rescue dog being adopted, each dog undergoes an extensive examination by our veterinarians, including a comprehensive blood profile, is updated on all vaccinations, spayed or neutered and micro chipped. Health issues that require additional treatment such as heartworms, surgery, etc, are addressed prior to adoption. In addition, each adoption includes free access to our Atlanta Lab Rescue trainer. At Atlanta Lab Rescue we firmly believe that a healthy, well trained dog is the key to the successful integration of a rescued dog and ensures a wonderful, loving companion for years to come.
