My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My foster writes:
Meet Boots, a true sweetheart. A friendly and happy cat with FELV, Boots loves to snuggle and accompany you throughout the house. She never wants to leave your side! She'll be your perfect companion for years to come.

My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!

I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.

I am looking for a home with a patient person.

I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.

Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy!

Boots tolerates attention and petting but appears to be moderately fearful or stressed in the shelter. She will likely need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that she go to a home with some cat experience preferred or at least be well counseled in fearful cat behavior. Due to the behavior shown, she may not be a great fit for young children. Any home with older children prepared to adopt this cat should conduct a thorough interaction and endeavor to monitor this cat around their children to prevent these behaviors from being reinforced

A volunteer writes: Get ready with Boots to find her forever home! First, Boots was sleeping in the back of her condo, completely at rest but also ok with having me as a visitor. She rolled over a little bit to show me her belly. Totally adorable. Next, Boots has to do her stretches. When she does the complete toe-paw-belly repertoire, it can take up to 10 minutes, but one thing about Boots is that she'll never let you be bored (which is impossible because she's just so cute). Boots will happily chit chat with you through her exercises. After stretches, it's time for cuddles. If you think you've had kitty cuddles, wait until you meet Boots! When I visited with her, she nuzzled into my face, arms, and hands. Definitely her version of a kitty hug! Last, but not least, is snack time. Boots is a social eater who says all snacks are great, but Churus seem to be her favorite. Boots is FeLV positive and looking for a home where she can be her total diamond self of a cat as she continues her search.
