Sadie has really learned a lot while in foster care, her family has spent a significant amount of time working with her & training her. She is very brave, a bit nervous, but brave in going out and seeing new things & meeting new people.
Sadie is comfortable with her canine foster siblings but is spooked easily with new or different things. She is trying very hard to be brave as she gets introduced so many new situations. She will initially bark when things change, a grocery bag appears, a chair is moved, etc., but once she investigates, she calms down. She absolutely loves everyone & gets along with them. She is extremely submissive & will instantly roll onto her back. It is worthy to note, children must always be respectful & know how to properly interact with a small dog to ensure everyone has fun & stays safe!
She would do best if there was another canine friend of similar size in the home. She mimics their moves & does better learning the routines by following one of her own kind. Sadie hasn't gotten used to a leash or harness yet, that training will need to come later. She will need a secure enclosure when she arrives at her new home. She doesn't need a big yard, just one big enough to go out and do her business. A physically secure contained area will be required. We want to make sure that we set her up for success!
You can find FAQ on our website regarding adopting. Please send us an email with your completed application if you think you'd be a good fit to adopt Sadie!
