Opie is a big goofy sweetheart who leaps like a cartoon horse when it's time to go for a walk and is thoroughly convinced his sixty-plus pounds fit comfortably in your lap. Potty trained and polite, he likes cuddling and receiving acknowledgement for his big stretches. His foster family has been happy to oblige him in all the encouragement he needs and he is doing great getting more comfortable and decompressing.
Opie could use some support with leash training, especially when there's an exciting small thing running in the opposite direction like a squirrel. Positive reinforcement training methods will go a long way in building good communication and improvement with his leash skills.
Opie is around 6 years old and is 60 pounds. He seemed to be independent around other dogs at the shelter, and did not seem interested in engaging in play. He might do okay in a home with another mellow dog, or would do fine as your only pet.
