My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Luna (named by the Kindness Krew from River Oaks Elementary School):

Luna's journey to finding a loving home hasn't been easy, but her resilience and sweet nature shine through despite the challenges she's faced. Originally discovered as a stray by Harris County animal control, Luna's gentle demeanor captured the hearts of those who crossed her path.

When we first laid eyes on Luna at the shelter, it was evident that she carried a sense of sadness with her, yet her spirit remained unwaveringly sweet and calm. Despite not being able to leave immediately, we couldn't forget her and knew we had to extend a helping hand.

As fate would have it, no one came forward to claim Luna, and she found herself on the euthanasia list. But we couldn't let her story end there. With determination and compassion, we made the decision to bring Luna into our care.

Since that fateful day, Luna has blossomed into the epitome of love and companionship. Her affable nature extends not only to other dogs but also to children, making her a perfect fit for any family seeking a loyal and affectionate companion.

Luna's unique appearance—a blend of shepherd with hints of Pyrenees—adds to her charm. Her pristine white coat is accentuated by a delightful patch of light brown/reddish fur over her lower back, a distinguishing feature that sets her apart.

At around 70 pounds and likely around 6 years old, Luna embodies the perfect balance of maturity and playfulness. With her endearing personality and unwavering loyalty, Luna is more than deserving of a second chance at a forever home.

If you're ready to open your heart and home to Luna, you'll be rewarded with a lifetime of love, companionship, and gratitude. Consider welcoming Luna into your life and giving her the loving home she so rightfully deserves.

Go meet their pets

Scout's Honor Rescue does not currently have its own facility to keep the animals in its adoption program. All animals in our program are fostered by individuals who keep the dog or cat at their residence until it is adopted. Consider opening your home to a dog or cat in need. You become the caregiver to a precious animal – their future is in your hands! It is incredibly rewarding to know that you have given that animal the two most precious gifts- Life and Love. For many of them, this is the first kind hand they have known.
