My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Goofball (that was the name the owner gave him) is a stunning male GSD and is very active. He would do best in a home that has knowledge of this breed. Some of his traits are:

Smart: This German Shepherd is exceptionally intelligent, eager to learn, and quick to pick up new commands and tricks. Mental stimulation through puzzles, games, and training sessions will be essential to keep him engaged and fulfilled.

Loves to Play Fetch: Playing fetch is one of this pup's favorite activities. Whether it's a tennis ball, frisbee, or favorite toy, he thrives on the joy of chasing and retrieving.

Needs Leash Training: While he may need some guidance and consistency with leash training, his intelligence and willingness to please make him a great candidate for learning proper leash manners.

Patient, positive reinforcement-based training methods will be beneficial.

Loyal: This German Shepherd is deeply devoted to his family and forms strong bonds with his human companions. He will be a steadfast and loyal companion, always ready to provide love, comfort, and protection.

Protective: With his instinctive protective nature, this German Shepherd will naturally watch over his family and territory. Early socialization and training will be important to help him distinguish between real threats and everyday situations.

A cat free home is necessary.

If interested, please call the shelter at 231-861-5395 and leave a message to be placed on this dog's adoption list. No obligation, but it reserves your place in line on the list. The shelter will contact individuals as they appear on the list.

Ask about adoption transportation assistance if you do not live in the local area.

The adoption fee is $95 and you receive certificates for $50 towards spay/neuter and $10 towards rabies vaccine if not already done. All dogs are heartworm tested, receive a DHLPP, flea and tick treatment, a bordetella vaccination and are dewormed.
