Since we are 100% foster-based rescue, only approved applications will be reviewed and/or contacted. We do not allow shipping & do not transport. You must live within 350 miles from Maryville, IL to be eligible to adopt. Jane will be available for a meet & greet with her potential adopters in the Jefferson City, MO area. We will require applicants to be available to travel there.

We are looking for a Cavalier savvy home for Jane. Jane is in a foster home with other Cavaliers & a cat. She is doing well integrating herself into routine, but she is also comfortable not being part of the household activities. She observes & explores, but doesn't necessarily require a sidekick, she is rather independent.

Jane is doing reasonably well with leash walking; we will require a fenced yard because Jane is still working on her potty training & she does better if she has a secure safe space to do this. Jane's foster mom discovered that she is reliably pad trained, so she keeps one positioned right by the door to continue encouraging Jane to go outside.

Jane responds well to praise. She is not treat or food motivated. Her foster mom stays close to her when she eats because she will allow the other dogs to take over her food dish.

Jane appreciates a low-key home. Loud crazy activity is a bit much for her, although she does enjoy being with well-behaved respectful young people. She also likes being close to her family at night & sleeping in the big bed with everyone is her preference. She is also a nice quiet car rider and likes to watch the activity out the window!

Please let us know if you have the perfect home to offer Jane by sending us an email. Gateway4paws@gmail.com
