Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Looking for a furry friend with a heart of gold? Meet Blaze, the resilient pup with a story to tell! Blaze may have had a rough start, but his spirit remains unbroken. At the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, Blaze is ready to embark on a new chapter filled with love, laughter, and plenty of tail wags.
Blaze recently went on a doggy day out and we're told he was awesome with kids, seems to be at least partially potty trained, loves all kinds of treats, and enjoyed hanging out on a local patio around all kinds of new people. He even went nose to nose with their cat and seemed to do pretty well!
Toys are Blaze's ultimate joy in life! Whether it's a squeaky plush or a sturdy chew toy, Blaze's eyes light up with excitement at the sight of his favorite playthings. With a toy in tow, this playful pup is always up for a game or a snuggle session. He is also attending START classes through Dayton Dog Training Club where he is learning so many new skills like sit, down, wait, and many more! Let him show you how smart he is!
If you're ready to open your heart and home to Blaze, don't hesitate to fill out an adoption application on our website or stop by the shelter to meet him in person. Together, you and Blaze can create new memories filled with love, laughter, and endless tail wags!

More about this shelter
The Humane Society of Greater Dayton is proud to be a no-kill animal welfare agency. We are committed to finding great homes for great pets! As a 501(c)(3) nonproft, we receive no government funding and rely solely on donations from individuals, companies and grants to fund our programs and services. We are not affiliated with any other animal agency on a local, state or national level. Since 1902, our organization has been devoted to being a voice for the voiceless. Although we proudly find more than 2,000 animals forever homes every year, we are far more than an adoption center. We currently have a wide array of programs to support animals in our community. Through our high-volume spay and neuter clinic, we are able to help pet owners as well as battle cat overpopulation through Trap-Neuter-Return. Our humane society agents also work tirelessly to protect pets from cruel and neglectful circumstances through our Cruelty & Neglect Investigations Department. Through our Veterinary Hospital, we can provide top-quality access to veterinary care at a low cost to pet owners. In addition to our many programs, our organization is unique because we are the only agency in the community able to handle all types of animals. This includes cats and dogs but also rabbits, birds, farm animals, pocket pets and exotics. Our organization is committed to providing our community, our state and our region with support and care.
