My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi guys, my name is Bambi!
My foster mom said she named me that because when she found me, I was as skinny and shy as a baby deer. I'm not shy anymore. In fact, I'm not skinny now either. It's like a buffet here and I'm always in the mood to chow down. I get kibble, chicken, cheese, yogurt, burger bites, you name it! My foster mom is so silly. Sometimes she puts her hand in my bowl and plays with my food, so I just eat around her hand. I never get mad at her. I'm very food motivated. That means I'm only a couple treats away from being your new best friend :)
I don't know how old I am, and despite a few grays I'm really young at heart. Well sort of. I do like my down time! Sometimes I just like to curl up on my bed and enjoy this new indoor life. I won't mind if you don't always have the energy to play, we can just watch our favorite show together. I only want to be around my human. I always fall asleep during movies. Sometimes I dream I'm in the movie, and you'll hear me yipping and barking in my sleep.
Because of my past life, it's hard for me to feel safe in a locked kennel. Sometimes I'm scared you won't come back for me. My foster mom made mine really cozy, with a bed and blanket so we are working on it. She also gave me this squeaky thing, but I don't know what she wants me to do with it! It smells like home, so I keep it with me at night. I sleep in my kennel every night, but you have to keep the door open, or I might cry a little. I can calm down with some loving encouragement from you. I just have to be reminded how much you love me!
I love my foster family and there's plenty of room in my heart for you too. I really want to be with my next family forever and always.

Bambi is part of our Home to Home Program. Although they are not a Pawmetto Lifeline dog, they have received the same high standards of care. Vaccinations and spay/neuter are included in the adoption fee. Pawmetto Lifeline wants every animal to have a chance to find a loving home.

More about this rescue

Pawmetto Lifeline, formerly Project Pet, was founded in 1999. Since the opening of our adoption, medical, and boarding facility in Spring 2012, we have been able to save more than 15,000 companion pets from euthanasia and gave them a new lease on life. We continue to strive toward the goal of a no-kill community and state through adoption, pet retention, rescue partnerships, and medical services.
