Hello, I'm Honeycomb. I'm a bit shy, so I might need a moment to warm up to you. My favorite place is my hidey hole bed, where I can watch the world go by. I lived most of my life outdoors, but with the company of some very nice people that would make sure that I had food and was well cared for. I can live successfully outdoors or indoors. Having the freedom to wander where I please helps me to open up to the people around me.

Falling in love with a pet is easy and pet ownership is very rewarding. Adopting a pet, however, is a big decision. Dogs, cats, and other furry friends require a lot of time, money, and commitment. Our experienced adoption counselors will gladly help you find an animal that's likely to be a good fit for your lifestyle and living arrangements.
Adoption Fees:
Puppies (six months and younger): $150
Dogs: $85
Senior Dogs (7 years and older): $55
Heartworm Treated Dog: $135
Kittens (six months and younger): $85
Cats: $65
Senior Cats (7 years and older): $25
The adoption fee includes the cost of spaying or neutering your pet, micro-chipping, annual vaccinations and a rabies vaccination. There is an additional $13 fee for a Sarasota County rabies tag and registration for Sarasota County residents. Dogs must go home with a leash and collar and cats must go home in a carrier; all are available in our retail store.
Once you've decided that you're ready to make the commitment, check out our website at www.hssc.org to search our adoptable animals.
