My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cat’s Name: Amelia

Cat’s Age & Sex: 6 years old / Female

Please call/text this number if interested: (386)216-3384

Cat located in this city: Deltona

Cat’s vetting history (spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped):
Spayed / Due for vaccines but had initial ones / Not chipped

Animals story: (where found and reason for wanting to rehome): Got her from a friend of a friend when she was a kitten. My family has had a severe financial hardship and have to move in with family who have large dogs and will not accept our cats. I’m devastated but know I can find her a home she deserves that is loving and safe. INDOOR ONLY please.

Personality (shy, social, likes to be held, lap cat? Likes or dislikes):
She loves attention (see video) but can be a bit temperamental (like many female cats), meaning one minute she wants pets and the next she’s telling you enough.
Takes time to come around to new people. Once she trusts she will likely be a lap cat.

Note: I believe Amelia would do best in a home without small children. She would thrive best with someone willing to work with her and learn her body language. She has been around small dogs and never large dogs but I believe she would have the same outcome.

Any Supplies that go with pet (food, litter, leash, cat box, bedding, toys): food, treats, and toys
What food is the cat eating (dry only, dry and wet): she eats dry food, will typically refuse wet food and LOVES her treats!
****Please note- I just learned why cats need wet food daily and how it can cause medical problems long term if none is given. Maybe next owner can start limiting the dry food slowly and give more and more wet food as she needs to be hungry enough to try a food she isn’t use too. Read more below to learn why.

:::::::::::Please know that cats need canned wet food given DAILY. Why? Because cats have a low thirst drive and actually NEED the moisture from the wet food! Wet food is 75 % water (dry FOOD only 10%) and giving them wet food daily will help them avoid Urinary tract issues (which can lead to litter box avoidance), kidney disease, obesity issues linked to diabetes and cardiac issues. You will save on vet bills too! Limit the overly processed dry food and ensure cat eats all the wet food daily. At the VERY minimum each cat should get one 3oz. can of wet food a day or HALF of a 5.5oz. can a day (although we recommend double this).

*Please know, that when you bring your newly adopted cat or kitten home, it is always BEST to place him/her in a very small room (bathroom works great) with their litter box, food, water, and bed for a few days to a few weeks. This way the animal can adjust much quicker and get acclimated to the new environment with less stress. All cats/kittens need time to adjust, so if you adopt please allow this. Thank you.

Call/text me if interested in this kitty: (386) 216-3384
