My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Cleft Palate & FIV+

Mariska is a quiet gentle soul. She has been able to overcome some big obstacles in her short life. She is quiet and calm, only giving little meows when she sees the wet food coming.  Her eyes are like windows into her past as she makes direct eye contact with you.  You can see the slightly skeptical look that comes from a life hard lived. Once you gain her trust she is very affectionate with an amazing purr that speaks louder than words about how much she appreciates the gentle touch. She would prefer a quieter home with a loving adopter who will continue to smoother her in the affection she craves.

Upon first glance you will notice Mariska is missing many of her front teeth and has a malformed upper lip. Our vets believe she may have a congenital abnormality such as a cleft palate, but it may also be an older facial injury. She has adapted quite well and is able to eat/drink without issue, but she does so slowly and thus requires separate feedings to ensure she gets proper nutrition.

Mariska is also FIV positive and requires a home where she can be the one-and-only or can join other FIV positive cats (check out Oreo's profile!). You can read more about FIV here: https://www.petmd.com/cat/conditions/infectious-parasitic/c_ct_feline_immunodeficiency_virus_infection

Go meet their pets

Our rescue is foster based, therefore you will need to make an appointment to visit with any of our animals that are available for adoption.
Most of our adoptable animals come from high kill shelters. Occasionally we are given specific breed information on the animals, but more often, we have to make an educated guess as to breed or mixture based on size, color and physical characteristics.
