My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ready to Fetch and Frolic? Meet Roxy, Your Snowy Adventure Partner!

Calling all active families and dog enthusiasts!  Are you searching for a furry friend who loves winter adventures, endless playtime, and learning new tricks? Look no further than Roxy! This energetic two-year-old cattle dog is a ball of fun and affection, waiting to find her forever home.

Here's what makes Roxy such an awesome pup:

  • Snow Bunny: Get ready to hit the slopes (or the backyard!) with Roxy! This playful pup thrives in the snow and loves to chase snowballs and explore winter wonderlands.

  • Fetch Fiend: Looking for a fetch fanatic? Look no further! Roxy lives for a good game of fetch and will tirelessly chase after that tennis ball.

  • Smart and Trainable: Roxy's intelligence shines through with her eagerness to please. Food motivation makes training sessions a breeze, and she'll quickly learn new tricks and commands.

  • Affectionate Companion: Don't let her energy fool you, Roxy has a big heart and loves to cuddle after a long day of play.

Who Roxy would love to meet:

  • Active Adventurers: Someone who enjoys an outdoor lifestyle and can keep up with Roxy's boundless energy. Daily walks, playtime, and winter adventures are a must!

  • Training Champs: Experience with positive reinforcement training is a must! Roxy's eagerness to please makes her a great student, but consistent training will help her refine her social skills.

  • Mellow Dog Mates: While Roxy enjoys playing with other dogs, slow introductions are key (she can be reactive with new dogs). She thrives with calm and well-mannered canine companions who won't overwhelm her and who will tolerate her high energy in return. Due to her high prey drive, a home without cats or small animals is ideal.

Roxy is two years old, playful, goofy, smart, and cuddly.  She is housetrained, crate-trained, and walks well on the leash and is working on her reactivity. Due to her high energy, she would do great in a home with older kids.

If you're looking for a dog who will be your partner in snowy adventures, fetch champion, and loving companion, Roxy could be your perfect match! See you more of Roxy on her foster mom's Instagram page @tine_that_dog_trainer

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We are doggie and kitty match-makers. We do everything in our power to assure that our dogs or cats will thrive in your environment.

Please start by submitting an application to adopt on our website. We do our best to respond to all applications but do to the number of applications received, this may always not be possible.

If you, your family and your lifestyle look like a good fit for the personality and needs of the animal, there's a phone call to chat and answer any additional questions. From there we will arrange a no-obligation meet and greet, where the animal could then go home with you, provided it is a good fit for all involved! (All this can happen within a week's time!)

A contract is signed at time of adoption. If for ANY reason you are unable to keep your companion, we quite passionately INSIST the animal be returned to us and NOT dropped in a shelter. We would happily take any of our adoptions back if it proves NOT a good fit for your family. :-)

Adoption fees include spay/neuter, microchip, basic vaccinations, (including rabies if old enough), deworming, rescue and transport costs, other medical services as needed (which can include but not limited to skin scrape, fecal exam, x-ray, amputation and hospitalization). Felines additionally receive an felv/fiv test and checked for ringworm with the Woods lamp prior to transport.

Adoption fees may vary due to special health circumstances, but typically start with...adult dogs (1 year and older): $425; puppies: $475; adult cats (1 year and older): $175; kittens: $250.

Go meet their pets

We are a foster based rescue ~ we DO NOT have a physical shelter at the moment. All of our dogs and cats reside in foster homes all throughout the Front Range and the Western Slope of Colorado. We have adoption events regularly at Petsmart stores in Denver, CO. If we do not have an event scheduled, we can arrange a time for you to meet one of our animals available for adoption.

More about this rescue

We relocate dogs and cats from high-intake shelters, animal control facilities, and reservations in the Four Corners area to animal rescue partners and forever homes in Colorado. We provide transportation to foster homes and other partner organizations, offer medical care and low/no cost spay and neuter services, manage a network of foster homes for temporary shelter, and run adoption events so that these animals can find forever homes.

Since March of 2012, we have transported thousands of at-risk dogs and cats to safety, solely on generous donations from caring individuals like you who see how dire the need is in and around the Navajo reservation.
