Meet River! She is about 10 months old, 52 lbs, and she likely has some boxer and doodle in her mix! River is one of a large unwanted litter. In her foster home, she has been working hard on her house training, crate training and leash walking, but will need a patient person to continue to teach her how to be a great adult dog. She could go to a home with kids 5+. She isn't the biggest fan of other dogs and likely would do best as an only pup. She hasn't live with cats since she came into our care however, she would likely do OK with a dog-savvy cat and slow introductions.
River has separation anxiety and will need someone who's home more often than not. We have a group of volunteer certified positive reinforcement trainers that we partner with and they will be able to work with River's new family to help her feel more comfortable when being left home alone.
Her foster says, "River is very smart and eager to learn. She's a great listener and settles down when she needs to! She will make a great family dog/adventure friend...the most loyal best friend her lucky adopter(s) will ever have."
She is available for adoption in Worcester, MA by appointment with an approved adopter. Please fill out an application on our website at https://www.browndogcoalition.com/adoptable as a first step.
- Please thoughtfully discuss with your entire household the physical, financial, and emotional responsibilities of a puppy/dog BEFORE applying to adopt. - Puppies/dogs may not be given as gifts or surprises. - More information about our adoption process, application and adoption fee can be found at browndogcoalition.com
