My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey there I’m Rose! I’m a social, affectionate, sweet princess looking for a castle to call my own. According to my foster mom I didn’t get the memo that I’m 60 lbs as I’m constantly trying to fit myself into small spaces – like the clothes basket, the smaller resident’s dog bed, and foster mom’s lap. Foster mom doesn’t seem to get upset though, she says I’m pretty cute!

I know all my basic commands (sit, paw, and lay down) and I really enjoy going on car rides. Just roll down the window a little and I’ll be the best co-pilot! I wont even complain about your weird human music or your out of tune singing.

I get along well with the resident dogs in my foster home, but I have been known to be selective on the dogs I choose to surround myself with – because of this I would do best as an only pet. This way I can soak up all the love, affection, the best napping places, and I can be your princess!!

I make an excellent alert dog! One of my favorite things to do is survey the yard and make sure everything is as it should be. I’ll be the first to let ya know if anything is out of place. I wont actually hurt anyone, but they don’t need to know that!

Foster mom says I’m smart – sometimes too smart! I did figure out how to open the door to foster mom and dad’s bedroom. It was kind of rude that they tried to lock me out. I just wanted to snuggle close! Did I mention I LOVE snuggles! Foster mom says I give the BEST hugs and kisses!

I am a responsible house pup – fully potty trained and I don’t need to be crated/kenneled at night. Foster mom does crate me during the day but only because apparently its rude to bark at things that move… that leaf did look pretty sketchy if you ask me.

I’m a mixture of energetic and couch potato. I like going on adventures but I’m also content just hanging out and napping. Just don’t expect to have personal space if you’re planning to sit on the couch with me, I will most likely demand snuggles.

If you’re looking for a sweet, cuddle buddy that is passed that annoying puppy stage – I am your girl! I am ready to start our adventure together – just a pup and her forever home!!

Go meet their pets

Foster based means that we are NOT a shelter. All of our adoptable animals are kept in loving foster homes until their FUREVER family finds them! All of our foster homes have demonstrated they have what it takes to love an animal and ensure their adopter is an excellent fit. Our fosters are volunteers who open their hearts and their homes to shelter animals embarking on their journey of a second chance. Take comfort knowing your pet has been in a loving home acclimating to life outside of the shelter!

More about this rescue

We are a group of local rescuers working in collaboration with Starfish Animal Rescue to save the lives of cats and kittens in need. The shelter these felines are being rescued from is located in Hazard, Kentucky. This is a mountain city with HIGH kill rates and LOW adoption. Recently they were faced with having to EUTHANIZE over 60 cats and kittens in order to make room for new intake. In order to prevent this tragic occurrence, we reached out to Starfish Animal Rescue. Starfish works with local rescues to transport animals from these rural areas and bring them to safe, loving, rescues and homes. We have rescue experience and are working closely with Starfish to ensure all adoptable cats and kittens are vetted, healthy and go to loving homes.
