My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Diana, the magnificent 1-year-old German Shepherd with a heart as big as her boundless energy and a spirit as resilient as her majestic stature. Diana's high energy and athleticism make her the ideal partner for outdoor adventures. She craves space to run and play, and a home with a large, secure yard where she can stretch her legs and explore to her heart's content would be a dream come true for her. This smart and intelligent girl is eager to learn and would benefit greatly from someone who can provide her with the training and structure she needs to thrive. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, Diana will flourish into the best version of herself—a loyal and loving companion who will bring joy and happiness to her forever family. Apply to adopt Diana at heberspringshumanesociety.com

Diana’s adoption fee is $100.00 and includes first shots, worming, and sterilization. Optional microchipping and registration is available for an additional $20.00. We have a dog park to check compatibility with existing dogs if needed. Fill out an adoption application at heberspringshumanesociety.com and a volunteer will contact you. The adoption application is NOT on Adopt a Pet. You must apply on our Heber Springs Humane Society website.

More about this shelter

Our orginzation was founded by Doug Bakko. Funds were raised to build the original shelter on land donated. The shelter has since been expanded using donations and fund raisers. We are the only Shelter in Cleburne County. Our operating funds come from our Thrift Shop, donations, fund raisers and some assistance from the city of Heber Springs, surrounding towns in Cleburne County. We work very hard keeping animals happy and healthy. We do this because we love animals and want to give them a safe haven and every chance possible to go to a loving home.
