My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We know we have a lot of antique dog aficionados on our page, and we need your help!
🚨
Callie was adopted from us a few years back, and due to multiple family members’ severe and unexpected health challenges needed to be returned today. We hope every adoption lasts forever, but stuff happens, and we are always here for our dogs in situations like this.

This senior rat terrier is shy and confused at first, but a gentle loving girl once she settles in and ok with other calm respectful little dogs. She was already a senior when adopted, and now is a “super senior” at around 15 years old! Being such an old lady she’s been having a lot of accidents lately: she will be seeing our vet this week for an updated senior work up to see if there are any underlying medical issues causing that beside old age. We would love to get her settled into her final permanent home sooner than later so she can enjoy it for as long as possible… she’s not getting any younger and doesn’t have time to waste ⏳ 🕰️ ⌚️

Email njwoof@cs.com if you would like to meet Callie in Northern NJ and provide her with unconditional love in her senior years, however long that may be!
Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. To streamline adoptions, all communication before, during, and after the adoption process is done through email only: we have limited volunteers able to return phone calls. Submit an application from our website www.secondchance.petfinder.com to speed up the adoption process and email any questions to us at njwoof@cs.com. Please check your email regularly for next steps. All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption and we do not have a central shelter location. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.
