My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

APRIL ADOPTION PROMOTION: adopters of any pet over 6 months of age may PAY WHAT THEY LIKE through 4/30/24 (adoption just needs to be confirmed by 4/30, pet parent may bring home their new friend after that date)

Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/Application
Please do not call the shelter; do the application first.

Aiken is a calm and affectionate girl, estimated to be about 6 years old, who arrived as a stray. She found her way to us just in time, as she had developed pyometra, a uterine infection, which is uncommon in cats but can be fatal.

Thankfully, spay surgery and a round of antibiotics have Aiken back in tip-top shape, and she is ready to find a home where she can become part of the family.

She obviously went outside before joining us, but so far has not seemed very interested in escaping to the great outdoors - seems like comfort is Aiken's main ambition, and she knows having bottomless food and water dishes, clean litterboxes, heat, soft beds, and medical care are WAY better than trying to survive on her own in the wild.

Aiken is currently rooming with a younger cat, Winter, who she tolerates even though he is much more active and playful. She would prefer more sedate kitty companions (if any) in her forever home.

All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Aiken is a suggested minimum of $40 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts.

Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
