Introducing Impala & Emu. Impala has less white and a more greyish tone to his tabby, while Emu has more white and a slightly more brown tone to his tabby.
Impala and Emu, born in June and April 2023 respectively, came in as part of a very large feral colony on which we did Trap-Neuter-Return. They are too friendly and social to spend the rest of their lives in the colony, yet are shy when first encountering new people, places, and things. They are bonded, and when we tried to place Impala without his best friend, it didn't go well, so they definitely come as a pair. These brothers would do well as indoor-outdoor cats (once acclimated to their new home), and are good with other cats.
They have fought off a persistent upper respiratory infection, and tested NEGATIVE for FeLV/FIV. While they are currently healthy, we have found that many cats' URIs recur briefly after adoption due to the stress of moving to a new home. If you have other cats in the home, you'll want to follow our early-days quarantine instructions and make sure your cats are current on their vaccinations. Most URI relapses are mild and do not require veterinary intervention.
All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Impala & Emu is a suggested minimum of $50 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts.
Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
