My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cowboy!

Cowboy and his sister Stella are each looking for their own home, and Summit Dog Rescue is stepping in to help their awesome foster Dad find them the best home possible. Here's what he says about them:

"Hi there, Let me introduce you to Cowboy and Stella. A sweet little couple that we know always dreamed of having a farm and got chickens, dogs and barn cats. Their female was scheduled to get spayed (they were not trying to be backyard breeders) and then they found out that the the dogs must have linked up because their female was pregnant. The couple was able to find homes for the rest of the pups with family. They had two left and the couple had an emergency and had to leave town...that is where my wife and I came into the picture. We didn't want to see them go into a shelter so the pups moved in with us!
"They are 8 weeks old and 8-1/2 pounds of Border Collie and Blue Heeler all mixed up! Cowboy is the little red guy. He is stunning and full of cuddles. The black and white peanut is Stella Blue. She is so cute and has a black heart on her left hip!
"We have two adult male dogs at home and two cats. The pups -- even though raised around cats -- really seem to want to play with our cats, but when the kitties give them corrections the puppies seem to take the corrections well.
"We are asking that the pups go to different homes, but we insist that they are placed with a home that has a patient dog buddy to play with. The pups are busy and need a home that has had herding dog experience. For sure dont let their cute faces fool you!
"With this being said we would ask that no children under 10 either. We have two middle schoolers at home that the puppies love, but they think kids are something to chase through the house! My wife has put them on Fromm puppy food and started to work on touch, potty training, and using a kennel. We would love to keep them ourselves but hope to find each of them a home with herding dog experience.
"We believe Cowboy would thrive in a home with a family that is around a lot and can provide a job for him -- like agility training or work on the land. He can be a bit vocal when left alone and has been somewhat of a velcro boy, which is what we are working on. He is young and has so much potentiial! He'll need love, exercise, training, and patience.
"Stella Blue is more laid back back and is self-assured (and takes the initiative) with other animals. She loves to dig, climb up cat towers, watch TV and snuggle with us.
"Both pups need a home that will give them routine and consistency to help them work through any struggles and conquer any fears. I can see them in the future sitting at brewery with you, maybe playing with a dog friend, or keeping you company camping."

For more info and/or to apply for either Cowboy or Stella, send us an email at SummitDogRescue@gmail.com, telling us a bit about yoruself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you shortly. Thanks.
