If Tabitha could write a book, she would have a lot to say! Tabitha came to us after she was abandoned in an apartment a few months ago, by a roommate while her owner was out of town. Her owner is unable to reclaim her at this time, but did connect with us to share information on this sweet girl. Tabitha is 9 years old and was adopted from the local Humane Society as a kitten. She has always had 'Torti-Tude' and is more of a look, don't touch, kind of girly. If she approaches you for a pet, go ahead, but if she is resting, leave her be. She loves having conversations with her human, and will roll on her back and show her belly when she is in a really good mood. She has lived with small dogs and other cats in her past, but truthfully would love a house and human to herself. She despises wet food and loves dry food and treats (in moderation). Her favorite toy is a laser to chase, followed by a cat wand. Recently, Tabitha was diagnosed with arthritis and was in a lot of pain. This in part is due to her weight, and we have recently started her on an overweight management diet. She is looking for a loving home to continue her weight loss journey, and spend the rest of her days soaking up some sun nearby a window.

More about this rescue
Welcome to Love Me True Rescue. This rescue began out of my overwhelming love of animals. From injured birds to stray dogs, growing up I always felt compelled to save animals in need. While living up north, I had the opportunity to volunteer at a local shelter. I met many sweet animals who ended up being euthanized for lack of space or for being deemed "unadoptable". One dog in particular who broke my heart, was Penny. She was a boxer mix and one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met. After being returned to the shelter twice for fear aggression she was put to sleep. I wasn't able to save her life, but I knew this was my calling, and I vowed to save others like my Penny. By the grace of God (and wonderful donors and volunteers) I have been able to start this rescue, knowing I have been equipped to help these homeless and unwanted cats. This rescue's mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and find safe forever homes for kittens and cats who would be euthanized or abandoned. I thank you for your support and love. This is for you, Penny!
God Bless,
Lisa Di Donato
