My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dusty is our Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.. In a foster home and at events, Dusty is incredibly sweet and affectionate. He wants nothing more than to lick every inch of your face (and your dog's face too!). Unfortunately, he's gotten a little too comfortable in the foster home setting. He loves his foster siblings so much that he will be a completely different dog once placed in an adopter's home. He will hide, nip, and even bite. For this reason, he needs an experienced adopter who is willing to work through his fear and self-sabotage to get to the sweet, loving Dusty that is hiding behind all that fear. Please only apply if you are experienced working through these issues.

More about this rescue

Chihuahuas are a very unique breed. They are funny, loving, and incredibly affectionate. We believe that every chihuahua deserves a warm lap, cuddles, and love and it is our goal in finding families for each and every dog that comes into our rescue. It is also our goal to provide education to others on the breed, as chihuahuas often get stereotyped as yappy and aggressive. We hope to show our local communities that, with proper training, chihuahuas can be calm and well-behaved pets, suitable for any home.
