My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, I'm Max. My age has given me wisdom and a love for the simple things in life. I'm a sweet, friendly soul, always curious about the world around me. I can be a bit goofy at times, but that's part of my charm. I'm smart too, always eager to learn new things. Cuddles? Oh, I'm a big fan! I'm just a sweet and happy medium energy guy!

I've never met a cat before, so the people here aren't sure how I would do with them, and I prefer to be the only dog in the house. I've never been around kids either, but I'm such a friendly guy, so I would probably be ok with dog savvy children.

Walking me might be a workout, I do love to pull on the leash. Apartments aren't really my style, I could run into another dog in those narrow hallways and I'd really rather not do that. I need space to roam and sniff.

I am a Special Paws pet in the Signature Pets Program because I have allergies that will likely require some extra care to keep under control and managed. Since I am a Special Paws pet, my adoption fee is up to you!

Adopt me, and I promise to fill your life with laughter, love, and endless curiosity.

More about this shelter

The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society was founded in 1926 and incorporated in 1949. The Humane Society has a publicly-tendered contract with the City of Windsor to provide animal control and basic shelter services in the City. This is only a portion of the work done by our organization. In 2016 almost 12,000 animal came through the doors of our shelter and spay/neuter clinic. We can’t help them without your support.
