My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Jewels and I'm a super soft and super sweet girl. I'm spayed and up to date on my vaccines, so I'm ready to find my forever home.

I'm good with all dogs (male, female, big, and small) but can sometimes play rough and wild with ones I really like. My foster dad just laughs and watches us play and lets of burn off our energy. It is so fun.
At my foster home I live with three other dogs and other dogs regularly come to visit and there are 5 cats too. I'm great with all and I'm really respectful of the cats. One is pretty bossy and she can be a bit scary.
Doors can be a bit scary for me and it took me a couple of days at my foster home to really get into a routine of going in and out them to the backyard on my own.
I'm really good girl in my kennel and don't make a peep. If I'm left alone and out for too long (over 4 hours) I might have an accident, but if I'm in my crate during the day, I have no issues at all.
We are starting to work on commands and I've learned "inside and now we are working on "sit.
Jewels' adoption fee is $400 plus MN tax which covers her spay, vaccinations, microchip and any additional medical care she may have needed while in the rescue's care.
We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website www.northernlakesrescue.org

Additional adoption info

Northern Lakes Rescue wants to make adopting your next pet the best experience you have in adopting a pet. When you see a animal you are interested in we encourage you either email us at info@northernlakesrescue.org with what dog you are interested in.

We require all of our volunteers to respond with 48 hours to all email inquiries regarding adoptions.

All adoptions will require an application, home visit, personal and vet references and a meet and greet. Our adoption fees range from $300-400 depending on the dog.
All dogs over 6 months of age will be spay/neutered, vaccinated to age and micro-chipped. Puppies being adopted will require a spay/neuter and vaccine contract.

Finalizing an adoption will include a contract that you will sign and payment of your adoption fee.

Go meet their pets

Northern Lakes Rescue is foster based so all dogs are being fostered by amazing volunteers, because of this we require all meet and greets to be scheduled after an application is submitted.

Our focus after you apply is to get you scheduled to meet the dog within 3 to 7 days.
