If you are interested in adopting, you will be asked to fill out and adoption application. The application will be reviewed before a time is set up to meet the animals. Our adoption fee for dogs is $120 and the fee for cats is $35.

More about this rescue

Ridgewater Paws and Claws is part of the Veterinary Technology Program located on the Willmar campus of Ridgewater College. The program takes in dogs and cats from the local humane society and dog pound. We are also a home to many pocket pets and exotics that are also available for adoption.

Dogs:
- Evaluated for temperament
- Started on a training regiment using operant conditioning, a.k.a. clicker training
- Heartworm tested and on preventative
- Treated for heartworm if positive
- Fecal tested, treated if needed
- Spayed or Neutered
- Microchipped
- Vaccinated for: Rabies, Distemper (DHLPP) & Bordetella (kennel cough)
- Given any other medical attention they may need
(dentistry, x-rays, lump/bump removal & any other surgery needed)

Cats:

- Evaluated for temperament
- Feline Leukemia tested
- FIV tested
- Fecal tested, treated if needed
- Spayed or Neutered
- Microchipped
- Vaccinated for: Rabies, Distemper (FVRCP) & Feline Leukemia
- Given any other medical attention they may need
(dentristry, x- rays, lump/bump removal & any other surgery needed)
