My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lady is a senior girl with lots of spunk and love left to give. She is a happy, outgoing love bug waiting to totally devote herself to her forever home. Her owner had turned her into a kill shelter to be euthanized with a very large, ruptured mass on her thigh that had never been addressed. Instead she got to us and our wonderful vet was able to remove the mass so she can have as many happy years as possible.

Lady has great house manners, she will go to the door and ask to go outside if she doesn’t have a doggie door. She lives with lots of other dogs and gets along with everyone; she even has plenty of energy to play with the youngsters.

She would love to come to a new home as a permanent foster if you are close enough to our vet so we can continue taking care of her; or she is available for adoption. Her mass was cancer so she will need to be monitored for growths to be removed as long as she can have a good quality of life. She is fully vetted - spayed, current with vaccines; on flea/tick and heartworm prevention and microchipped.

More about this rescue

Hillcrest Animal Rescue is a 501c3, non-profit organization dedicated to saving as many homeless, neglected and abused animals as our resources allow. All of our rescues are placed in loving foster homes and receive thorough medical care. Each companion animal is heartworm tested and treated if positive; placed on monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention; altered and micro chipped. Every animal receives a full complement of vaccines depending on risk and immune status. Chronic pain is not acceptable with animals in our care. We will take whatever measures are necessary to ensure that all of our animals are living free of pain and disease. To summarize our belief in veterinary care, any animal at Hillcrest Rescue receives the same level of veterinary care as if she or he were the only animal we have.
