My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bodie is coming soon in Bloomsburg, PA! He may also be available as a foster to adopt prospect within a few hours of that location on his transport date of 3/2.

Bodie is about 2-3 years old and came to ASF as a stray in rural Alabama. He was recently neutered and updated on his vaccines and is heartworm negative. He's a great medium size at 44 pounds, has a very pretty black tri coat with lots of white, and a nub tail.

Bodie is an awesome boy with a precious personality - very eager to please and ready to learn. He can be shy at first but once he warms up, there's nothing like the adoration that comes from his beautiful brown eyes!

In particular, he LOVES the ladies. He is a little scared of men but working to learn that they aren't so scary and that when they're cheering for sports teams, it's not a reprimand of him. With his temporary foster momma, he is very high on the Velcro scale. If allowed to, he will stay right near his human at all times.

He's also a snuggle bug. He's relatively chill for an Aussie - medium on the energy scale with a lovely off switch. He will thrive with proper physical and mental exercise, ongoing training, and lots of cuddles!

Bodie has done well with dogs of all sizes and ages and enjoys their company! He is currently fostered with a 5 pound senior Chihuahua, a 15 pound Schnoodle and a 60 pound Golden Retriever. He seems know the senior Chi is the boss man. He plays well with the others. He is also fostered with a kitty; he didn't know what to do about her at first. But now, she has set the tone, and he is respectful - if not a big frightened - of her. He's had no issues around food or with resource guarding.

Bodie has come to appreciate his crate as a safe space, but he does bark when his humans leave and will whine or bark if he needs to go to the bathroom. House training is still a work in progress, but his recent neutering should help!

Bodie is good on a leash and doesn't pull but is working on not herding his human on walks. He's also doing great learning basic obedience commands. Bodie herds his toys and will adorably gather items that look interesting - toys, shoes, hats, socks...they're all such fun! He really likes squeaky toys. He goes through the toy bin and looks and squeaks each one. He loves a good nylabone too. He'd be thrilled to have lots of different toys in his new home, including enrichment toys and maybe a herding ball. He hasn't learned to bring balls back, but he does get some pretty adorable zoomies with them!

If you are ready to open your home to a very special, loyal, sweet boy, apply for Bodie today! Here is the link:
