My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

NOELLE IS PART OF A BONDED PAIR WITH CHESTER (FF2356), THEY MUST BE ADOPTED TOGETHER.

Noelle is a beautiful, affectionate calico. Now that she has raised at least two litters of kittens with her partner Chester, she is ready for her own loving home. We believe they were garage cats in their former home, so they are both a bit shy when meeting new people, but Noelle is the more confident one. Noelle is trying to teach herself how to be a lap cat. She loves to cuddle and be pet. She does enjoy mouse toys and the track with a ball. She will "help" clean the liter box by sitting on my back for encouragement. Occasionally she can be a bit nippy, but this has decreased significantly since coming here. Overall, Noelle would make an excellent addition to any quiet home.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All adoptions begin with an adoption application, available here or on our website (or from one of our wonderful volunteers in person). The application is reviewed by the adoptable animal's foster home as well as by the appropriate coordinator (canine/feline) to assess how the animal will fit in your home. We endeavour to respond to all applications within 72 hours, but being 100% run by volunteers sometimes we need additional time--if you haven't heard back after 72 hours, feel free to contact us to check in on your application.

Canine Adoption Fees:
$450 for puppies under 1 year of age
$375 for dogs over 1 year & under 7 years
$300 for dogs 7 years and older

Feline Adoption Fees:
$250 for kittens and cats up to 12 months old
$200 for cats between 1-6 years old
$150 for cats 6 years old and older

Adoption fees help offset the cost to our organization of providing full medical care (including spay or neuter surgery) to each animal we adopt to a furever home.

More about this rescue

The Barrhead Animal Rescue Society (B.A.R.S.) was established in January 2010, and is dedicated to ensuring the humane treatment of all animals in the Town of Barrhead, the County of Barrhead and surrounding areas.

We provide a safe and nurturing environment for unwanted, abandoned, lost, and mistreated pets until they can be placed into loving homes. Through proactive intervention, public education, fundraising events, and community outreach, the Barrhead Animal Rescue Society seeks to promote respect for all life by breaking the cycle of abuse, neglect, and pet overpopulation in our communities.

The Barrhead Animal Rescue Society is supported through private contributions.
