Buddy is a super outgoing, affectionate, goofball of a boy on the lookout for that perfect forever family to bond with. Buddy is around 4 years old and is a handsome black Staffordshire (pittie) boy.
He's been a staff and volunteer favorite because he is just such a good dog, he's even done our Dirty Paws run and our Walk event and was amazing.
Buddy is looking to find a home where someone is home majority of the time, and who have experience working with Separation Anxiety.
Buddy loves pretty much every person he meets and is pretty neutral when meeting new dog friends, but when given time to build rapport does get goofy and playful. He's looking to find a home with a confident but easy going canine companion that'll keep him company when his humans aren't around. But also, one that once they're comfortable with each other will play too. His BFF at the shelter is miss Piglet, they love stomp zooming together in the play yard.
Buddy's one hurdle is he has serious separation anxiety. He is on medication that should be continued while he learns that being alone isn't the end of the world. He hates everything about being crated but seems to do better when given room to roam and things to distract his brain from worrying about his humans.

We ask that anyone in need of surrendering an animal call for an appointment. Our name reflects our geographic service area, not a governmental body. We are a nonprofit agency dependent on private donations and are not supported by tax dollars. As a "special admission" shelter we accept all animals in need, but we do utilize an appointment policy to ensure there is space for all incoming animals. Thanks to a dedicated and caring staff and volunteers, and the monetary contributions of so many compassionate individuals and businesses in our community, we offer our animals the best of care as they await their new forever home.
