My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Buttercup! This sweet little Shipoo is about 7 years old and only 16 lbs. She’s a very sweet, affectionate, and gentle little pup. She does require regular grooming appointments for her coat. We’re looking for an experienced adopter for this sweet pup.
Buttercup MUST be the ONLY dog. She does not get along with other dogs at all. Not even for visits.
She will select her “person” in the house and not leave their side, this little one is very attached.
She can be possessive of her people. Buttercup did share a household with a cat for a brief time and did well, but the cat would need to be very dog savvy and slow introductions.
Right now Buttercup is used to having her human around all the time and makes a darling little shadow. She is loving with her people and will happily curl up beside you and always wants to snuggle.
Buttercup also loves to dance when she gets excited for walks or training sessions. She is a picky eater, but loves cheese. She is also housetrained and has not had an accident in her current foster home. She is also good with letting you know when she needs to go outside.
Back in July 2023, Buttercup had 2 lumps removed from her mammary glands. They were benign mixed mammary tumors. More of these may develop in other random mammary glands. The risk that any will become malignant is less than 10% as per her medical records.
Buttercup is not a fan of car rides, resulting in anxiety in the car. She is making good progress on this, however her new home should have patience with her as she acclimates to car rides.
She is also an incredibly gentle girl and has been great with the child in the home. Older dog savvy children only. She prefers to sleep close to her people, either in the bedroom or on the bed. Sudden movements and loud noises can startle her. She does get anxious in new situations, but patience and understanding and keeping things calm will help her relax.
If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle, loving pup, Buttercup may be the one for you.
