Say hello to Lyika, a brave and resilient 6-month-old Sato with a heart of gold. Lyika's journey began with the intention of becoming a TNR dog (Trap, Neuter & Release) but fate had other plans when she and her two siblings contracted Parvo while at the vet's office. Despite the challenging road ahead, Lyika has emerged victorious and is now ready to find her forever family. Despite her early struggles, she remains friendly, affectionate, and overflowing with boundless joy. Currently weighing 22 pounds, Lyika is on her way to reaching her full potential and is expected to be around 30 pounds when fully grown. This sweet pup is a social butterfly who gets along famously with other dogs and adores the company of children. She is crate trained and house broken. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a survivor who will fill your life with love and happiness, Lyika is waiting to meet you.

More about this rescue

Save the Satos Inc. is a non-profit, registered 501c3 organization which is focused on changing the lives of the stray dogs (known to the locals as Satos) of Puerto Rico. We rescue the unwanted dogs of the island, and transport them to NJ where they are placed in loving foster homes. The Satos are made happy and healthy, socialized, spayed/neutered and put up for adoption to find their forever home.

Save the Satos also focuses on helping pet owners in Puerto Rico by providing food, shelter, spay/neuter, flea/tick/heart worm prevention, vaccines and veterinary care to families in need.
