McClain came to us at the end of 2023 with uveitis that did not respond to the treatment that the ophthalmologist prescribed. Bloodwork came back negative for anything that they potentially thought would be causing it. Another kitty cat that came from where he originated had what they believe to be congenital glaucoma. With all of this information, we decided to do an eye removal on him so that way he would not be in continued discomfort and need lifelong medication just to keep his eye manageable.
We think that McClain makes a rather stunning pirate cat! And we are happy that his eye is no longer causing him pain!
Quiet and chill would be the best environment for this boy. He is gentle and sweet, but does startle and make himself small in unfamiliar situations. Adult and older children would be preferred. We are confident that he will continue to grow and evolve in his new home, becoming more confident each day!
Do you have the perfect home for him? Great! Fill out this form to meet him!

More about this rescue
The Euclid Beach Cat Project is a 501(c)(3), non profit rescue group. We take in, socialize, vet and adopt out cats and kittens, as well as trap-neuter-return (TNR) and manage feral colonies. There are so many homeless, abandoned and vulnerable cats and kittens needing homes, medical care and to be spayed/neutered. We try to help as many cats find a home as we can. If they are feral, we practice TNR and make sure either a caregiver or someone with this rescue continues to provide for them.
