My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The most adorable chocolate chihuahua reporting for duty! They call me Pumba. The past year has not been good to me. I was put in an animal control shelter in Texas. I was found very Malnourished and Flea infested. I did have a microchip; my owners were notified but never came to claim me. That's okay, I am looking for a better beautiful future. I am food obsessive and would have to be fed separate if other pets are in the home. Foster mom thinks this is because of my never knowing where my next food source would come from. So, I will resource guard all my food and treats from other dogs. I'm ok with humans around my food/treats.

I'm fine with 2 small dogs and 1 large dog in my foster home. But I sure would like more single attention of my own. I snuggle under the blankets for sleep time. I will go in a open crate with blankets also. I do not however like the door to be shut on me. I will bark continuously. I really don't need to be locked in. I am a good boy. I hate this cold Minnesota weather, so I do my business right away when I go out. I have also used the potty pad now and then, so I don't have to venture out. I do very well on a leash and love a good walk. I have a nice large fenced in yard here. I probably should have a single dwelling as I can be vocal if crated and left alone. I do alert if someone is at the door.

Hi, Pumba 's foster mom here. Please fill out an application if Pumba has caught your eye. I would be very happy to answer any questions you may have about him. He would make a wonderful companion for most anyone. But I think he would love his very own person or two with all their attention devoted to him. Thank you for reading his profile!

**Note on breed and age determination:

Breed and age are often determined on appearance, our own knowledge, veterinarian advice, and/or information from the sending shelters or previous owners.  Most of our adoptable dogs were previously stray dogs with little history, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s breed mix, and unless there is a specific date of birth listed, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s age. Additionally, our assessments of a dog's interactions with other dogs, cats, or children are based on OUR experiences. Your experience may differ.
