My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***ELI THE HERO***

Police just arrested a vagrant in front of the house next door! They caught him in someone's back yard. Guy was wearing a plaid shirt & looked suspicious. He is going to jail.

That guy had actually come up on Cynthia's (Eli's foster's) porch and walked up to her front door. The door is all glass & her two big dogs were eagerly awaiting his presence 🤣 The dogs, especially Eli, the big German Shepherd foster dog, started barking crazily so that person retreated back to the sidewalk, then he stared at her house for a few minutes. He made Cynthia uncomfortable but he wasn't (yet) doing anything illegal. One of her neighbors found him in their backyard and called the police. He was arrested and is going to jail.

Cynthia IS so thankful she had Eli, who has THE BEST ALARM BARK, and Heidi to watch over her!

Are you looking for a daily running companion, one who can keep up with you at every level, will go out no matter the weather at any time of the day, someone who will agree with wherever you want to run, never lags behind or talks back, and one who will challenge you to do your very best?

If YES is your answer to all the above, look no further. Your perfect companion is Eli.

Eli is a stunning GSD mix who was pulled from the Stockton shelter and was on the euthanasia list due to overcrowding. Eli is a very sweet, obedient dog with a high energy level. He is extremely athletic with long legs like a gazelle. Eli is very friendly and very easy to manage but needs some serious playtime and exercise every day.

Eli is housebroken, crate trained, and is comfortable traveling in a car. Eli loves running and playing with other dogs and would do well with a very playful four-legged playmate, one who can keep up with is rambunctious nature.

More about this rescue

Golden State German Shepherd Rescue
is a 501(c)(3) non-profit based in the Central Valley of Northern California

Our mission is to find loving homes for German Shepherd Dogs in need of a second chance and to educate the public about this highly intelligent and versatile breed.

Most of the dogs in our program come from Central Valley animal shelters where they have run out of time. We place them into foster homes to assess their needs and gives us time to fully vet them. And then we find perfect fit adopters throughout Northern California..
