Adorable little tabby Riley came to Happy Cats after being rescued from trying to survive outside in a homeless camp, which you can tell by her tipped-ear badge of courage. Big handsome tabby Luka has white paws, vest and big green eyes. He came back to us after his guardian died and he was left alone for a long time.
They met each other at here at the Haven and have been friends ever since! They are are more than ready to have their own home and family to love.
Because of their scary early lives they needed time to learn to trust, but now they get very excited to see their friends! They greet their favorite people with lots of rubs, head bonks and chirps.
They both appreciate being able to initiate petting, but once they consent, they are very affectionate. They both love to snuggle next to you when you sit on the floor with their favorite blanket in your lap, which is a kitty magnet for them!
Riley will lay and roll in your lap, while Luka is a Sidecar Cat who loves to snuggle right next to you. They also love to be brushed during their snuggle sessions. Being picked up has been scary for them in the past, so they do best when they can be in charge of how and when they are petted.
As your favorite Kitty Admins, they can be extremely helpful about the house! We expect they’ll follow you around–especially Riley!–and give you instructions on whatever it is you’re doing. If you do well, they may even reward you with a headbonk and some purrs!
Riley is a flirty little lady once you get to know her and Luka will be your steadfast, green-eyed man of the house.
Playtime is the best way to win their hearts and keep them confident. In spite of Riley’s sweet appearance, she’s a fierce little hunter when it comes to playtime. Get out any wand toy and you won’t believe how fast she is!
Neither of them can resist when a toy disappears under a rug or blanket. They come with a Cat Dancer and fleece wand to keep increasing their confidence at their new home. This will also help them bond to their new family.
Both cats love high perches and will come with a cat tree to provide that. Riley survived by hiding up in trees when she was outside and Luka loves his high perches too. This helps them stay confident when they’re feeling a little unsafe.
They have lived at Happy Cats for many months and will need at least 2 months in their Safe Room, a quiet space to learn to trust and love their new family, as well as our Hands Off handling to help them build trust. Superhero Cats need to be the only pets in the home and do best in a home without small children.
Superhero Kitties come with a kit that helps you support them while they become the lovable companions we know they can be (http://happycatshaven.org/kitty-superhero/). This includes a home installation, a top/side loading carrier per kitty, a mini-class in Hands Off Handling, their favorite toys & bedding, 3 months of food/litter/treats, up to 1 year of professional behavioral counseling if needed.

They can be adopted together for $90 which along with their Superhero Kit includes their spay and neuter, vaccinations, microchips, food and litter and treats for 3 months, and a free well-kitty checkup each to help you get started. Our adults and catolescents (5-12 months) are $90, which includes their spay/neuter, microchip, all vaccinations, food & litter starter kit and a free well kitty checkup. Seniors and other special needs cats include the same signing bonus and are $60. Our kittens are $145 for those under 5 months, including the same package. Cats & kittens adopted together qualify for the Friends & Family discount, with the second one half off.

No healthy or treatable cat is euthanized, and our Live Release Rate is 98%, which means we meet the definition of a No-Kill Organization and exceed that of Socially Conscious Sheltering.
We believe that cats are valuable, lovable and trainable, not disposable. Feline Friendly means we treat our cats as individuals–with respect, compassion and positive reinforcement–to make their stay as stress-free as possible until they are adopted.
We give both our cats and our adopters the gift of time, so everyone can relax and show their true personalities. Each adoption matches our deep understanding of our cats with their new families, handcrafted for a feline lifetime.
Our ongoing support with classes and online advice continues long past adoption. We have found forever families for over 4,500 cats and kittens since 2011!
