Surprise! This little loaf of Corgi is an absolute hoot! Her foster family has kept our volunteers updated on Matilda's rescue journey, and boy has it been a joy to watch.

Matilda's foster family has reported that Tilda 'loves puzzles, games, and is crazy for food! She likes to tattle on the other dogs. She behaves so well in her x-pen & has the best personality'. They even sent over a video of her ringing the potty bells to go outside.

We are open to discussing an x-pen if you do not have a fenced yard. Matilda is responding to leash training, but she has a way to go before she is reliable on the lead. So, she will need secure containment immediately to be able to do her business. If you have a fence, it needs to be completely secure & enclosed. NEVER EVER should she be left in a yard without supervision. If you have interior stairs, please have a plan to keep her off the stairs unsupervised. Additionally, please be aware of the stair railing & the distance between the spindles.

Speaking of business, Tilda is working on potty training. It is a process that will require commitment & patience, as she has a little puppy bladder. But honestly, we could not be more pleased with her progress. Potty bells? Yeah, she does that! Please remember when a new environment is introduced, there are changes in routine, she will need her family to set her up for a successful transition.

We like to remind applicants that a new puppy is a lot like a toddler. They need to be supervised, and the best way to do that is to have a dedicated space set up for them. This area will be a part of the home where they can see activity & observe, but it is a place that is puppy proofed. Where they can play, lounge, or nap when their family is not directly engaging with them. Playpens, 4-squares, or x-pens are excellent tools to make this possible. They are easily mobile if you want to move them around, too.

Bringing home a new puppy is a huge responsibility that requires oodles of time! Please apply if you meet the requirements & would like to adopt an adorable puppy. Please don’t apply without speaking to your spouse/partner first. We are ready to process applications & find Matilda her forever family!
