Hi! I’m Samantha, the happy and affectionate 55lb, 1-year-old female black Lab mix on a quest for my forever home! My journey started on the streets of Texas, where I was found as a stray and ended up in a shelter. I was saved just in time and now I’m here, being fostered in Byron Center, Michigan, hoping to find a family to call my own. You really need to see me in person to appreciate what a beautiful dog I am!

I’m a bundle of joy just waiting to bring warmth and companionship to your life. I absolutely love to play, especially when I’m frolicking around with other doggy pals. I’ll definitely need a FULLY FENCED-IN YARD so I can run and play until my heart’s content. I’m also longing for a fur-sibling to share all my adventures with.

Additional adoption info

We require that the interested adopter come to meet the dog and then fill out an adoption application. We will review the application and then pass on to the dog's foster family (if applicable). We then contact the potential adopter's vet and we will also do a home visit. If all goes well, the adopter signs our adoption contract stating that, among other things, the dog will receive regular vet care and must be returned to us if things do not work out.

More about this rescue

We focus primarily on rescuing senior and special needs dogs in kill facilities. We are located on 30 acres of land in rural southern Michigan. We are a care-for-life facility, so any dog that does not or that we deem cannot be adopted will live with us for the rest of his/her life. Because we rescue the dogs that are not in high demand, it normally takes our dogs longer to find that perfect family. We believe that it takes a special family to adopt our special dogs.
