My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Polo is a gentle giant. He is friendly and likes to follow his people around. He loves to cuddle on the sofa or the bed, and he likes to lay in the sun. He rarely barks, but lets you know that he wants or need something (like going outside or going for a walk) by sitting in front of you and making quiet whining sounds. He walks well on a leash after he has done his business. He passes several dogs on his daily walks but doesn’t have a resident fur sibling. He is walking 2+ miles a day without any problems and he probably could walk more. He is very food oriented, and will train well with treats. He rides in car well, but if you put him in the back seat before you get in, he will try to ride shotgun and needs a firm hand to get him back into the rear seat. He is an easy dog and isn’t destructive. He has been crated at night, which is not his bed of choice (he’ll want your bed), and occasionally he will whine for a couple of minutes but then settles down to sleep and sleeps through the night. He has loves doing Zoomies around the back yard and wants someone to play with him! He is a bigger boxer and very strong so a family with older children would be best.

More about this rescue

NorCal Boxer Rescue provides a temporary sanctuary for Boxers in need throughout California. Boxers come to us from shelters and from owners who are no longer able to care for them. We provide these animals with veterinary care, spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, a microchip, a temporary foster home at a private residence, lots of love, and placement into a carefully screened home forever.

NCBR is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is run entirely by a dedicated group of volunteers who have an unmatched love for preserving this wonderful breed. If you have a heart for animals, we invite you get involved in whatever capacity you can.
