My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you ready to add some extra love to your life? Meet Georgia, a playful and lovable pup who is eagerly searching for a forever home! She`s potty-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained - making her especially ready for her forever home!

Here`s why Georgia is the perfect addition to your family:

?? Social Butterfly: If your household includes other pups, Georgia will fit right in! She adores playing and interacting with other dogs, making her an ideal companion for your existing furry family members.

?? Food Enthusiast: Meal time and treats are Georgia`s favorite! Training sessions are a breeze when you have such a motivated learner! Georgia has mastered `sit` and is now working on perfecting other basic commands.

?????Great on Leash: Ready for adventures? Georgia certainly is and she has the best leash manners! Whether it`s a leisurely neighborhood walk or a brisk hike in the great outdoors, she is the perfect companion.

?? Playful Puppy: Georgia loves occupying herself with her favorite chew toys or frolicking with her foster brothers in the backyard, she brings boundless enthusiasm to every play session.

?? Ready for Love: Georgia thrives off of praise! She`s excited to find a loving forever home where she can cozy up on the couch with you (recently discovered she`s a fan of nature documentaries - `Deep in the Heart` was a fan fave), go on adventures, and spend her days doting on her toys.

If you`re interested in making Georgia a part of your family, please reach out to learn more about the adoption process. Don`t miss out on the opportunity to welcome Georgia into your life and give her the loving home she deserves! ????

Additional adoption info

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day!
For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites.
For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.

Adoption Fees:
$80 cats & kittens up to 6 years old
$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
$30 small animals
No fee for senior pets 7 years and older

Go meet their pets

The Austin Animal Center is open for adoptions every day from 11:00am to 7:00pm. We're closed Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Thanksgiving Day to give our staff some time with family.
Interested adopters should come to the shelter during business hours to meet with a counselor start looking for a pet who'll be a good fit. Our counselors and volunteers are happy to help with that process.

More about this shelter

Austin Animal Center is the largest open-intake animal shelter in central Texas and we work very hard to try to save 90% or more of the thousands of animals we shelter every year. We always need volunteers and both monetary and in-kind donations to help us in our sheltering and prevention activities. Visit our website to find out how you can help!
