My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

❤ IN VERMONT ❤

Marlin is 2 years old (approx. DOB TBD), male, 61 lbs., vetted, is or will be neutered, and microchipped.

Marlin was found as an abandoned homeless stray in NC.
In my current host home (2 adults, work remotely, 2 dogs, rural):
• I am good with other dogs
• I am not sure about cats but haven't shown a prey drive
• I have medium+ energy
• I don't have experience with kids but have loved all humans
• I can be in a forever home with or without another dog
• I am crate-trained and potty-trained
• I seem to be fine when my foster parents leave me home alone for 4-5 hours
• I am a quieter pup
• I know Sit, Wait, Crate up
• I sleep in my crate in the bedroom at night
• I get excited to see people on my walks and walk great on trails
• I just want love! I love attention, my chew toys, and lying in the sun
• My ideal home would be with an active person who loves the outdoors, in the City or rural, and will continue my training! I make a great officemate, I have lots of love to give and want to please!
If you are interested in adopting Marlin please fill out an Application at www.Passion-4-Paws.org (please make sure you have the Vermont site not CT) - thanks!

Disclosure:   Breed labels are often incorrect: we rarely know the genetic lineage of the dogs we rescue.  Many shelters and rescues specify breeds based on appearance; however, research has shown that less than 2% of a dog’s DNA determines appearance!   Passion 4 Paws does not practice the use of labels pertaining to compatibility with others or dog breed.  Labels such as “dog friendly” and “child friendly” should be used with caution as they often over-simplify the personalities and behavior of dogs.

More about this rescue

Passion 4 Paws is an animal rescue organization founded by Robin Shover of Shelburne, Vermont. Robin has invested many years learning best practices to rescue dogs primarily from death row at high kill shelters. Robin works very closely with Potters Angels Rescue out of Randolph, Vermont and decided the most effective way to save even more dogs is to continue working closely with PAR plus her own new entity in Chittenden County and surrounding areas. Many people who personally know Robin realize her "passion" and dedication to the dogs. P4Ps rescues dogs from high kill shelters, provides a safe environment with foster families and adopters, education for the community, and advocacy for animal rights. Our group will be staffed entirely by volunteers and will be served by a Board of Directors. Our efforts will be supported through donations, charity events, Corporate/Employee Benefit tax deductible donation programs, and the generosity of animal lovers from within the community. Our focus is on dog rescue only. All funds received will be used strictly for this purpose and will incorporate medical bills, transport fees, food and other items for the dogs, shelter fees, charity events, boarding, and training.
