My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Magnus!

The handsome 3-year-old Pitbull mix with a heart as big as his gentle spirit! Weighing in at a sturdy 53 pounds, Magnus is the perfect blend of friendliness and sensitivity.
Magnus is friendly by nature, although he may take some time to warm up to new people due to his sensitivity. Once he feels comfortable, his loving and loyal nature shines through, creating a strong bond with those he trusts.

Magnus gets along well with most dogs and shows potential to live with another dog in his forever home, provided it's a good fit. With the right match and a gradual introduction, Magnus is sure to form a lasting friendship with his furry companion.
Due to his initial sensitivity, Magnus would do best in a home with older children, ages 13 and up. This ensures a calm and understanding environment, allowing Magnus to fully embrace the love and care of his forever family.

Ready to welcome the warmth of Magnus into your life? Call 330-487-0333 ext 226 to schedule an appointment and let the gentle presence of Magnus fill your home with love. Your forever friend is just a call away!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.

We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at (234) 212-9843 or email at adoptions@summithumane.org, and an adoption counselor will return your message. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.

Additional questions can be directed to our adoption team at (234) 212-9843.

More about this shelter

Since 1968, the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) has been the trusted caretaker and advocate for Summit County’s victims of animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment and stray animals suffering from illness and injury. We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
