My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Estrella was brought in by her previous owner on February 24, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Estrella, a delightful canine companion who is all about cuddles and couch time with her people. With her soft fur and gentle demeanor, Estrella is sure to melt the hearts of everyone she meets. It's important to note that Estrella would do best as the only dog in her new home, as she has some tendencies to protect her food, toys, or other belongings from other dogs. Estrella would also benefit from positive reinforcement training to help her become the best pup she can be! Estrella has a playful side and enjoys staying active - an energetic family who enjoys outdoor adventures and regular exercise would be the perfect match for this spirited pooch! Want to know more? Come meet her today! Don't forget to bring a leash and collar!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
