My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Penny is one of two sisters whom we have fostered over the past several weeks and worked to prepare them for their forever families. Her sister, Polly, was adopted recently. Penny is still with us and, to be honest, we love having her here in our home. She is a young dog (probably about one to two years old) who was brought into the shelter as part of a litter of puppies. The shelter she comes from is a wonderful one where the dogs are showered with love and socialized with other dogs.
Penny is a shepherd/hound mix with beautiful markings and a sweet, sweet temperament. She primarily wants to be with her humans – sleeping beside them while they watch tv or read a book or whatever or sleeping at their feet while they work. Whatever they are doing, she just wants to be with them. That is when she is happiest.
She is also one of the smartest dogs we have fostered – learning how to use our dog door in her first two hours here. (Some dogs never learn it!). She is perfectly housetrained at this point and we have been walking her every day to get her used to city sights and sounds.
I cannot emphasize enough what a very sweet dog she is and so very loving.
