My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.

What is it going to take to find Aldo a home?!? He has waited so long and really needs to find a home ASAP! PLEASE SHARE! We need HUNDREDS of shares to help find him a home.

He is a sweet, friendly pup ready to find his forever home. If you’re looking for a playmate for your dog or if you need a buddy to join you on hikes, runs, or walks, Aldo would be a great choice!

BREED
A DNA test done on his sister shows he is 51% Australian Cattle Dog, 34% German Shepherd, 1% Collie, 1% Bohemian Shepherd, 8% Husky, 3% Chow, and 2% Chihuahua.
He’s about 35-40 pounds currently. Will maybe be 50ish pounds full grown?

KIDS
He was around kids in his first foster home and was good with them. He may jump and knock smaller kiddos over out of playfulness/excitement. He LOVES people! He’s been good with 12 year old kids.

DOGS
Yes, he is good with other dogs. He does play a little rough. He LOVES to play!

CATS
Probably not. We think he’d be a bit too rough on cats and risk their safety.

AGE
Estimated DOB 11/1/23.

OTHER
He LOVES tennis balls He will entertain himself with them if no nobody wants to play. He usually brings them back if you throw them. He LOVES people! He is crate trained and very close to being house trained. He sleeps quietly through the night in his crate too! He needs work on leash training.

He is neutered, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

In New England.

More about this rescue

Adopt-A-Stray was founded in Jan. 2010, by Kelley Prichard. Since then, it has grown to include a few wonderful volunteers who work very hard to help ensure that our pets are place in loving, forever homes. We are based in Alexander, AR, but we list all of our available pets in the northeast. We work with several different transporters to get our babies to their new homes in the northeast once they are adopted. The transporter we use most often Pack Leaders (www.plrdogtransport.com). All pets are given age appropriate vaccinations before they leave. Every pet is seen by our vet prior to transport. If you see a pet listed that interests you, please be sure to read the description thoroughly and inquire to the email address listed. Thank you for considering a rescue dog!
