Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jack is an adorable and lovable 3-year-old pup. One of our volunteers described him as the color of a toasted marshmallow. His tail is always wagging, he loves food, and he loves walks where he can sniff everything. He is also great in the car and very gentle.
When he went to the vet, they discovered he was heartworm-positive. He will have to go through several months of treatments involving a series of injections, and we would really like him to be in a home, hopefully with someone who plans to adopt him when the treatment is complete. During his recovery, he will have to have very restricted activity for 6 to 8 weeks. He can't be neutered until he finishes treatment. We would like to place him locally since he will need to go back and forth to the vet for the treatments, x-rays, etc. The Shelter will cover the cost of his treatment.
If you are interested in fostering him or fostering to adopt, please fill out an adoption application here: medfieldshelter.com/adoptIf you are interested in adopting a dog, please fill out our dog adoption application here: http://medfieldshelter.com/adopt. Our dog adoption fee is $350. Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash.
With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both.
All adoption meetings are by appointment only as we only have two employees. Our manager or one of our volunteers will be happy to set up an appointment for you to come meet the pets, but please fill out the adoption application first.
